The GUDesign network reflects a timely demand, shared by many, for further research on the comparative, transnational and interdisciplinary foundations of a “Genealogy of Urban Design”. It is structured through a categorization into Thematic and Geographic nodes. The nodes represent thematic or spatial points of reference for:

• promoting research
• mapping and documenting research on a subject, as well as bibliographical sources and case-studies
• the dissemination of network activities such as seminars, open access publications, interviews with short YouTube videos, and visits/teaching in situ.

All the principal activities of the GUDesign network are developed through the nodes, which are promoted and coordinated directly by the network’s members.
