Dr. Chen is Senior Lecturer in Liverpool School of Architecture. She leads the Urban Form and Social Space research group in the school. She has obtained her PhD in Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Strathclyde (Scotland), MA from Bath University (England) and B.Arch from Southeast University (China). She is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Urban Management (Elsevier) and a key member of the International Seminar on Urban Form (ISUF). She is also a co-founder and convenor of the ‘Urban Morphology and Representation’ network within the International Association of People-Environment Studies (IAPS). Dr Chen’s research focuses on urban morphology, Chinese urbanism, urban design, public space and design governance.
