Francesca Romana Stabile

Her research activities are on the architectural conservation field, especially on regionalist architecture and ambientismo, with particular attention to constructive characters and the restoration of minor historic urban centres. Specifically, the aim of the research on regionalist architecture and ambientismo is to study housing experiences from the second half of the XIX and the first half of the XX centuries, both Italian and foreigners. The purpose of these studies is to determine protection and enhancement measures on the historical and artistic heritage in different social and cultural circumstances. The research on Garbatella led to the publication La Garbatella a Roma: architettura e regionalismo (2012-2020) and to the recent activities for the celebration of the hundredth anniversary of the ‘garden suburb’ (2019-2020, Garbatella 20/20).
