The work of the GUD for the 2024–2026 period will continue under the coordination of Marichela Sepe focusing on contemporary urban issues. In this regard, some of the main themes include: urban health, livability and proximity; multi-adaptation and multi-resilience in multi-risk contexts; urban regeneration and reconstruction; the enhancement and use of cultural heritage; public–private relationships; new approaches to teaching — and the related design of campus public spaces and communication in urban design — as well as AI and new technologies.
Through a rich program of activities — including seminars, lectures, workshops, study tours, biennials, book presentations, and design projects — these topics will be explored with the aim of promoting the culture and practice of Urban Design, engaging a wide audience of academics and professionals, as well as administrators and citizens.
