Benno Albrecht is full tenured professor of architectural and urban design and director of the PhD School at Università Iuav di Venezia.
Professor Albrecht has received architectural awards for his projects and buildings, he has won design competitions and his projects have been exhibited in Italy and abroad. He has held lectures and seminars in various Italian universities and institutes, in Europe and in Indonesia, Argentina, Vietnam, China, Japan, Colombia, Perù.
Professor Albrecht is the author of essays and volumes on sustainability in architecture such as “Conservare il futuro”, “Il Pensiero della sustainability in Architettura”, “Africa Sustainable Future”, “Esportare il Centro Storico” and “Il Bel Paese. 1 Progetto per 22.621 centri storici”. He has published with Leonardo Benevolo "The origins of architecture" and "The boundaries of the human landscape".
He has curated exhibitions for the Milan Triennale such as “Africa Big Change Big Chance”, a section of “The architecture of the world”, with Alberto Ferlenga and Marco Biraghi, “Esportare il Centro Storico” and “Il Bel Paese. 1 Progetto per 22.621 centri storici”.
