Guido Zucconi

Born in Modena (1950). Graduate in Architecture, at the Politecnico of Milan (1975), later at the Princeton University (USA), 1977. Full professor in History of Architecture and Urban History at the University IUAV of Venice from November 2000 to September 2020. Visiting professor at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris, University of Edinburgh, Fudan University in Shanghai, and CUJAE of La Habana. President of AISU (Italian Association of Urban History) from 2010 to 2013, president of the Ateneo Veneto in Venice, from 2014 to 2017, later member of its board. Now retired doing classes on urban history at the University of Padova. Major fields of interest: architectural and urban history mainly focused on Italian case studies of the 19th and 20th centuries, with special focus on the definition of new professional roles. Since 1980s, he has extensively published: on the birth of Italian town planning in La cIttà contesa(1987); on the international town planning arena in Camillo SItte e i suoi interpreti (1992); on the role of significant Italian personalities like Camillo Boito(1997) and  Gustavo Giovannoni (1999).
